The crescent is a symbol of Mirror-like wisdom, personified by the Dhyana Buddha, Akshobya. Anger, the aggregate of consciousness, the hell world and the color white are those samsaric manifestations transmuted to become the Mirror-like Wisdom. Mirror-like wisdom is the siddhi (or extraordinary ability) of seeing clairvoyantly the inate reality, as though reflected in a mirror, all phenomenon or things apparently organic and inorganic. Mirror-like Wisdom is symbolized by the element of water from which springs the lifestream represented by the sap in trees and plants and the blood in man and animals.
