Bodhi Pines is the name we have given these few acres of earth that we call home. We have 5.5 acres in the back woods of South Carolina, just outside of Columbia. The back 2 acres are (slowly) being improved with a view towards the building of a temple, a residence for visiting teachers, and retreat huts.

We have lived here since September of 1995, having moved onto the property after returning from teachings and empowerments shared by His Holiness Sakya Trizin in Berkley, CA.

Since then, a 900 foot road has been constructed for direct access to the Skyflower Dharma Center grounds. A well, power, and phone service have been installed at the site. We are now in the process of 'cleaning' and clearing the building site. During our first 7 months on the property we lived without running water, so progress is definately being made.

The Skyflower Dharma Center members meet every Sunday from 2:00pm til 6:00pm for Meditation, Sadhana practice and an ongoing study of various teachings and scriptures. Anyone is welcome.

One Sunday a month we travel as a group to attend meditation with Venerable Geshe Dakpa Topgyal and members of The Charleston Tibetan Society.

Venerable Geshe Dakpa Topgyal is, at this time, making an effort to raise funds to help treat the Tibetan refugee Monks at Monastery stricken with TB, as well as building separate quarters in order to help stem the spread of the disease. If you would like to contribute towards this cause please send donations to:
